A MAN appeared in a Brisbane court this morning accused of murdering Daniel Morcombe as police ramped up their search for the boy's remains.
The 41-year-old man, who was barefoot and dressed in jeans, did not enter a plea and his case was adjourned until September 26.He was charged with murder, deprivation of liberty and child stealing in relation to the disappearance of Daniel Morcombe, 13, who vanished from a bus stop on the Sunshine Coast on December 7, 2003.
Outside court, the man's lawyer, Tim Meehan, said his client would fight the charges and would apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
While police are pleased with the arrest, they are privately warning that the case has "a long road ahead"
